A Multimedia Computer
Most computers can easily tune-in to this broadcast. Your computer should have the following features:
Browser Version 4.0 or higher
RealPlayer or Windows Media Player
Why do I have to log in to watch an event? TOP
Each audience member is assigned a unique username so that other audience members and the
presenter can be addressed individually. If you log in as a registered user, you may pick
your username. If you log in as a guest, a username (like Guest213) will be assigned to
you.
Why do I have to create a new account? TOP
The only time you will have to create a new account is when: You are trying to access your
first event. You cannot remember or obtain your previous webcast account information. You
have been using a guest account for events.
Once you create an account for a webcast event, you can use that same username and password to access any future events. To create a new account, simply click on the Register link on the login screen.
Is there anything I can do if the username I want is
already taken? TOP
Unfortunately, if the username you wish to use is already in use, you will have to choose
something else. You may, however, add a number before or after the name to create a unique
username. For example, instead of "JohnDoe", you may register
"1JohnDoe" or "JohnDoe1".
Changing the case of certain letters to make your username unique will not work. For example, if "JohnDoe" is taken, you cannot register "JOHNDOE".
What if I forget my username or password? TOP
By clicking on the link Forgot your password? On the event login screen, you can request
your account information. Simply enter your registered email address and your username and
password will be sent to your email address within a few minutes of your request.
If you don't have the time to wait, and your event will allow it, you can log in to the event as a guest.
What is the difference between joining an event as a
registered user and joining as a guest? TOP
Since you provide an e-mail address as a registered user, the Presenter of an event is
able to contact you to respond to questions you posed during the event that have yet to be
answered or perhaps to notify you of future events that you may want to attend.
A guest login is only good for one event and does not provide the Presenter with a way to contact you after the webcast event. In addition, if you plan to attend an event with colleagues or friends, it will be easier for them to recognize you online by a name you select, rather than an anonymous guest name assigned at the time you join the event.
Why should I pre-register for an event? TOP
When you pre-register for an event, you will receive an email reminder approximately 30
minutes prior to its start time. Pre-registering also gives you time to set up an account
as a new user, or to do a pre-event system check to ensure you have a good experience when
the event is run live.
What is an interactive webcast? TOP
An interactive webcast event is a web-based application that integrates audio, video, text, polls,
quizzes, and interactive dialog, and makes it available over the Internet. A host, or
presenter, controls the content and agenda of the event. The participants, those who log
in to the event, are the audience.
Once you enter your valid account information and select Join, or you select Join as
Guest, you will be given access to the webcast event and a new browser window will open.
This new window will be divided into several easy-to-identify sections that organize the
video, discussion room, images, polls, etc.
Once you have successfully logged into the event, simply click the "?" near the bottom of your event window if you need additional help.
